The European Scientific Working group on Influenza (ESWI) is holding this year’s Science Policy Flu Summit on 28 September in Brussels, Belgium.

The agenda includes lectures on newly emerging influenza viruses, current and future antivirals, and the pros and cons of vaccinating children, pregnant women, people with asthma and diabetes patients. Dr. Marco Goeijenbier will present the outcome of a brand new review study on influenza vaccination for travellers, while Dr. Florian Krammer will review the pathways to improve the effectiveness of influenza vaccines.

The Science Policy Flu Summit provides a platform for debate and interaction among leaders from health professionals´ organizations, patient organizations, academia, industry and civil society in order to work together to reduce the burden of both epidemic and pandemic influenza in Europe.

Registration is free, but the number of seats is limited. More information about the concept of the Summit and a preliminary programme is available at http://www.flusummit.org.

Registration is possible at http://eswi.org/flusummit/register/.
