New resource for the immunization community

Recommended Posts

Establishment of the Immunize Europe Forum addresses a common wish expressed over the past couple of years by immunization professionals across Europe during consultations, meetings, conferences and through surveys.

The message has been consistent and clear: we, the immunization community, need a common space through which to share information, resources, lessons learnt and innovative ideas.

The need for transparency, accountability and information sharing was identified already in the European Vaccine Action Plan 2015-2020, adopted by all European Member States in 2014. While there are many online platforms available to spread misinformation about vaccines around the world, a platform for sharing what works in promoting immunization, increasing vaccination coverage and disseminating evidence-based information has been lacking.

The WHO Regional Office for Europe is eager to facilitate information sharing and a wider discussion among immunization professionals and other interested parties. We proudly offer the Forum as a useful tool for this community, and will serve as the site’s administrator. The views expressed here are those of the users, and the site will be moderated only to the extent that common sense dictates. It is a work in progress, and its future is yours to create.

To meet your evolving needs, the Forum will require your regular input and feedback. The WHO Regional Office for Europe offers this Forum as a service to its Member States and the immunization community. Along the way we will regularly commission an independent review of the site to measure its continued relevance and utility for this target audience.

In its first month, the Forum will highlight European Immunization Week and other topical issues of interest to its users. We invite you to take a look around, add your voice to the discussions, share the link with your colleagues and ask any questions that you may have regarding the site.  Enjoy!
